The V Mod Jazzmaster pickups, developed by pickup guru Michael Frank (engineer behind the Eric Johnson Signature Strat single coils), were designed to encapsulate the classic single coil sound the offset holy grail is known for but with a modern twist. For more beef, the V Mods are wound hotter than your traditional JM single coil but with more mid range & low end without the biting treble the original pickups were known for - giving a very Stratty like tone that can handle plenty of gain & distortion for fatter riffs albeit without the noise.
