Alvarez Dana Scoop Electric Guitar

The Alvarez Dana Scoop, designed by Dana Sutcliffe in the late 1980s, is an innovative electric guitar known for its distinct cutaway feature, the "Scoop." This radical design minimises phase cancellation, allowing for enhanced sustain and resonance, particularly in the lower frequencies. Crafted from a sugar maple body, each Dana Scoop model has a maple neck and fingerboard.

Equipped with a Floyd Rose Licensed tremolo, the Dana Scoop also features a unique pickup setup: a humbucking single coil configuration complemented by a Harmonic Enhancer. The controls are streamlined, with just a volume knob and an enhancer control. This distinctive model was named “Guitar of the Year” in 1992 by Music and Sound Retailer. Made in Korea.
