The WA-CX24 brings back one of the most sought-after vintage stereo microphones ever made, faithfully recreating the legendary AKG C24 design. Built to deliver the rich, three-dimensional sound heard on countless classic recordings, it captures a wide stereo image with natural tube warmth and smooth detail. The original became a studio staple on orchestras, piano and drum overheads, and was trusted by artists and engineers including Elvis Costello and Steve Albini. At its core are dual large-diaphragm, all-brass CK12-style capsules and true tube circuitry, paired with two TAB Funkenwerk (AMI) US-made output transformers. The dual 180-degree rotating capsules allow independent positioning for precise stereo techniques such as XY, Blumlein, mid-side, or custom angles, delivering phase-coherent vocals, detailed piano recordings and expansive stereo room tones.
