Beyerdynamic M160 Dynamic Double-Ribbon Microphone

Beyerdynamic M160 Dynamic Double-Ribbon Microphone

These have long been the go-to ribbon mic for many sound engineers over the past few decades. We like it because it has a double ribbon and a hyper-cardioid pickup pattern - unique for a ribbon mic. If you want a ribbon that sounds tight and controlled, in a less-than adequate room, the M160 is your guy.

The microphone’s provenance is undeniable. The M160 was used by engineer Andy Johns to capture the drums of Led Zeppelin’s When the Levee Breaks. It's been used by Eddie Kramer on vocals and guitar for Jimi Hendrix, and by producer Phil Ramone to record Billy Joel’s voice.

Includes original padded pouch and K&M mic clip, as well as the measured frequency response chart of this actual microphone.
