Modor DR-2 6 Instrument Digital Groovebox Drum Synthesizer
The DR-2 is a six-instrument digital DSP drum synthesiser with a built-in 128-step sequencer. At first touch it feels familiar, with sounds that nod to classic drum machines and a step sequencer that makes building patterns immediate. But beneath that surface, the DR-2 goes far beyond traditional designs.
Although fully digital, the DR-2 is not sample-based. There are no samples and no sample memory. Instead, it operates like a classic analogue drum machine, using digital sound synthesis algorithms rather than analogue circuitry. Each drum voice is fully synthesised, allowing deeper control and wider sonic range.
Like the Modor NF-1, the DR-2 is not designed to recreate vintage machines. It uses digital synthesis to push drum sound and rhythm design forward. Classic bass drums, snares, rimshots, and familiar floor-filling patterns are easy to achieve, but with 12 synthesis parameters per drum, the DR-2 quickly opens the door to highly individual and original sounds.
