Din Sync RE-909 w/ Revolution 909 Upgrade

Din Sync RE-909 is a faithful, component-accurate replica of the Roland TR-909, built using vintage-correct parts where required and carefully matched component values to mirror the sound and output levels of the original unit. Assembly focused on close adherence to original specifications rather than reinterpretation.

The Revolution 909 upgrade adds a non-destructive hardware and firmware expansion to the TR-909 and compatible clones. It replaces select ICs on the switch board with a memory expansion module running new v5 firmware, plus a display driver upgrade that enables alphanumeric characters on the 7-segment LEDs.

Firmware v5 preserves the original sequencer timing and behaviour while adding fixes, workflow improvements and new features, including 32 internal banks, mute functions, expanded external instrument mapping, sync fixes and MIDI-based firmware updates. Original firmware versions 1 and 4 remain available in ROM and can be selected via key combinations. The upgrade is fully reversible and requires no permanent modification.
