1960s Kawai "Kingston" S2T - Hound Dog Taylor Guitar - Made in Japan

1960s Kawai "Kingston" S2T - Hound Dog Taylor Guitar - Made in Japan

1960s Kawai-made 'Kingston' S2T Electric Guitar featuring a plywood construction (making this one nice and light), rosewood fingerboard with 12" radius, 24.5" scale length and incredible single coil pickups that are found on many Kawai guitars from the 1960s but particularly favoured by blues players like Ry Cooder for that 'slightly-microphonic' raw, sound.

Made in Japan.

Large crack (mostly superficial and seems very stable) down plywood neck, missing original vibrato arm & rubber mute (however includes mute system which is mechanically sound) as well as a few cracks around the body with an inch-sized chunk missing from the bottom bout bearing the plywood body underneath the veneer.

All that being said, this has just gone through a full setup with fret level and is playing fantastically with a very low action all the way up the fretboard.

One of the best sounding guitars we have here in the store.
